MJANAHERI-NGOMENI ROAD CONSTRUCTION PROJECT

The construction of the 12-kilometer road project to Ngomeni, being implemented by the Coast Development Authority (CDA) through a local contractor, Siham Limited, has officially commenced and is expected to be completed within 12 months starting January 2, 2026. The contractor received the notice to commence works on December 25, 2025, and site possession was granted on January 5, 2026. However, there has been a slight delay due to funding procedures. Site clearance works have been completed in two phases, and surveying has been finalized for 6 kilometers. The project is being implemented in milestones, with the first section of the road scheduled to be paved within two months so that residents can begin benefiting from it early. All workers employed on the project are local residents. Current challenges include traffic disruptions and increased demand for employment opportunities from the community.
