I met Tommy at Old Bahama Bay Resort in the Bahamas and we decided to go fishing in the ocean for the very unusual and dangerous species of fish called a “houndfish”. Houndfish are a great sport fish, that will jump and make screaming runs, but they are also very dangerous and need to be handled with extreme care. I started the day off fishing with a piece of sardine for bait to catch the houndfish. After capturing and releasing several houndfish, Tommy tried to catch a houndfish using his fly fishing tackle. Unfortunately, the houndfish were not interested in the fly fishing lures. Tommy and I left the houndfish and started searching for the elusive permit along the shoreline. We found one big permit, but he wouldn’t bite.
