Rojo Tango Group Dance of the Tango, Buenos Aires, Argentina

This is one of five videos showing different styles of Tango. Rather than the traditional one on one this video features groups of couples dancing. Sometimes intrigue is introduced. Waiting for my Antarctica Expedition to begin I spent two nights in Buenos Aires. Although I had been there in 1981, I did not recognize the city. The first night I went to Rojo Tango, which was an incredible performance. Rojo Tango is a truly VIP tango show in one of the rooms of the Faena Hotel + Universe, located in the prestigious Puerto Madero neighborhood.  The room, called El Cabaret, is a unique space by the revolutionary French designer Philippe Starck. The whole experience is mind-blowing, as it takes place in an impressive hall where I enjoyed a delicious three-course menu and an intimate show that is different from the usual ones.  Rojo Tango goes through the history of tango from the 1920's to Astor Piazzolla, with modern touches. It is a dynamic, precise, sensual and intense show that amazed me in a very special atmosphere. It was one of my most memorable experiences of the entire expedition. I recommend Rojo Tango 100 percent.
