Saying Goodbye to Faith (and Keeping the Faith)

This isn’t a typical video for me. It’s not about video. I’m not teaching anything. There’s no strategy or lesson. This is me saying goodbye to our dog, Faith. Faith was rescued after spending a long time in the pound. She was quiet, stubborn, deeply individual, and not at all interested in being a “normal” dog. She didn’t jump. She didn’t play. She didn’t fetch. But she had her own way of loving—most notably by gently placing her paw on your foot. We called it getting “paw-paw.” This video was filmed as a way to honor her, to process the loss, and to hold space for gratitude alongside grief. In a small way, it’s also a reminder to keep the faith: In the quiet moments. In the odd ones. In the days that don’t seem important until one day they are.
