Cabinet Office minister Pat McFadden has told Sky News the Labour Party knew they were going to "inherit a difficult situation", but "what we've discovered since taking office a few weeks ago is that things were even worse than we thought". Mr McFadden refused to confirm exactly how big the "black hole" in the budget is, but said it will require the new government to "take some difficult decisions".
