The presentation is relevant to clinical sections and could come in the exam, with a lot of interconnectivity between Diabetic and Charcot foot. Diabetic foot is becoming increasingly prevalent and can result in ulcers and amputations. Neuropathy and vascular components are the main causes. The assessment of a diabetic patient with a foot ulcer should be done with an MDT approach, assessing diabetic control, ulcer infection, vascularity, and neurology. The assessment should also include ulcer classification to determine the severity and the possibility of referral to a plastic surgeon.
