Wiring the Motogadget M-Unit and Digital Guard Dawg

For me, the quest for clean, tidy, dependable wiring and electronics on a build is always challenging. Current technology is making motorcycle wiring lighter, safer and easier to install. I believe Motogadget has the most advanced, dependable motorcycle electronics products on the market. The functional options of the Motogadget M-Unit provide the user with customization that is easy to apply. However, there are some short comings in documentation and accessories … from my perspective. The Motogadget M-Lock keyless ignition is an accessory which just didn’t make the grade for me. I’ve become a big fan of keyless ignition. The convenience of not having to pull a key out of my pocket with gear on is sure nice. Not having to mount a switch on my bike keeps it cleaner and less cluttered. The product I selected for the Sportster is from Digital Guard Dawg. The product works much like the RFID keyless ignition in my car or the system on my Harley-Davidson Ultra. No need to reach for a FOB in a pocket. The FOB enables the system by proximity. If you’re really concerned about security it can be programmed to require a push of the switch on the FOB, but the convenience I’m looking for is lost in this case. Searching online and on YouTube, I wasn’t able to find any information about connecting the Motogadget M-Unit with the Digital Guard Dawg keyless ignition. Understandably, neither company is interested in providing any support to assist in connecting to the other’s product. I sat down to figure it out and I think I’ve come up with a pretty good solution. It looks like these two products will work quite nicely with each other.
