Hi, Welcome to Tangled. In today's tutorial, I'm going to show you how to make this beautiful patchwork cardigan. If you are a beginner in crochet, this project is great, because making many squares with the same stitch will help you to practice and improve your technique. So come on… let's get started! For this cardigan, we are crocheting 18 squares, 20 by 20 cm, with half double crochet. After we made our swatch and our measurements, we came out needing our squares to be 28 st by 20 rows, measuring 20 cm by 20 cm. To make the square chain 29, and starting on the second chain from the hook, make 28 hdc. At the end of the row ch 1 and turn (this does not count as a stitch), and work another row of hdc. Keep doing this until you have 20 rows. Join all the squares with slip stitch. For the ribbing, you will use the smaller hook and crochet hdc in the back loop.
