The India–Middle East–Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC) is emerging as a landmark connectivity initiative designed to accelerate trade, reduce transit times, and diversify global supply chains across Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. Beyond infrastructure, IMEC represents a strategic effort to build a transparent, sustainable, and resilient economic corridor spanning manufacturing, energy, technology, and logistics. Yet, the corridor runs through a complex security environment marked by political volatility, maritime threats, and regional instability. Ensuring IMEC’s long-term viability will require coordinated security arrangements, crisis-response mechanisms, and deeper cooperation among state and non-state stakeholders.
