Sorry for the three week absence; life and duty got a wee bit in the way of video making. Nevertheless, I'm back at it, and here's the Introit for the 8th Sunday After Pentecost, Suscepimus, Deus, presented with rudimentary phrasing suggestions (green is "bigger" phrase, red is "smaller" phrase). Important note: the purpose here is to provide a basic interpretation that is textually and melodically sensitive, bringing out the meaning of the chant in an engaging yet accessible way for the parish schola. This is not a scholarly semiological treatment. Don't like it? No problem. There are as many interpretations as there are semiologists and schola directors, so feel quite free to ignore this if it doesn't suit your scholarly understanding of "correct" interpretation of chant according to your whims and research ;-)
