Icelandair B752 "80 Years of Aviation" TF-FIR - Static Thrust Takeoff

From Martin, a member of SAP: I'm reposting this sequence from Friday 09.03.18 of Icelandair's Boeing 757 'Vatnajokull', leaping off runway 23 at Glasgow, firstly because I've tidied them up a bit but mainly because of how this special departure came to pass. I had to check out of courtesy first whether or not I could mention this or not. When I found out that this aircraft was on the ground at Glasgow, I chanced my arm and messaged my friend Laufey Einarsdóttir who is a senior first officer with Icelandair. I asked her if she knew who the crew was and if she could ask them for a fast 'rotate' so I could get shots with the snow covered hills in the background. My request was somewhat 'tongue in cheek' and I didn't expect it to be taken seriously, far less actually acted upon ! Well, Laufey DID pass on my request to the Captain........and the Capt DID comply !!! Well, he delegated his first officer Atli Porvaldsson to comply ! He performed what is known as a 'static thrust take-off' especially for me !! For the avoidance of doubt, no rules were broken, no safety was compromised, no risks were taken, he just used the upper end of the standard 'performance envelope' !
