My review of Selkie's "Tea Rose Dress", a cotton puff sleeved midi dress printed with Van Gogh's sunflowers! The sunflower paintings are some of my favorite art pieces, so I just had to order this when it came out! While the dress is fun and otherwise as described on the listing, I can't recommend this particular style as it doesn't look like they include print placement on the cups as part of their QC. The listing is not up on their website at the time of publishing, but the "tea rose dress" is one of their cotton styles that they produce in different fabrics. I am wearing a size L (size 10) and I am 5'1" with a 30-31" waist and a 32DD bust. I'm not an expert on certifications for ethical or sustainable manufacturing in the fashion industry, but it does seem like WRAP is not without criticism. There also isn't a way as far as I can tell to verify what level of certification Selkie's manufacturers have, as they don't share the site names. The site https://goodonyou.eco/how-we-rate/ is a decent starting point to learn more about brands' production practices. However, they don't currently have a rating for Selkie. Ethical vs fast fashion rankings aside, if you're interested in taking a better sartorial stance for the planet, your best bet is to take care of what you already own, and make purchases thoughtfully, aiming to pick up pieces that you can love for a long time, no matter what brands you're shopping at.
