If you’ve seen mention of the MOKS system… You’re probably wondering how it is different from our classic concrete outdoor kitchen system. That’s an excellent question! Just one look will tell you there are some fundamental differences… But what are they, exactly? This video will take a deep dive into the 6 main differentiators… However, we will discuss a few here as well. First and foremost, MOKS installs much quicker than our standard concrete system. Generally speaking, you can install a MOKS island in half the time. Now, that doesn’t mean our concrete outdoor kitchens are slow to assemble! They still come together in a single afternoon. MOKS simply offers a more rapid installation process. Another key difference is weight. It’s no surprise to you that a concrete outdoor kitchen is heavy. It’s concrete, after all! So MOKS does have a leg up in this category. They’re made from a different material, and have thinner panels. This makes MOKS much easier to maneuver in your backyard. Another difference? MOKS is actually less customizable than our standard concrete islands. There are a set number of configurations you can choose from… So there is less flexibility when it comes to design. At the same time… There are a number of popular designs available with the MOKS system! So if you’re not looking for anything overly complex, you’ll likely find what you need. A fourth difference between MOKS and our concrete outdoor kitchens is the materials, of course! Rather than being made from concrete… MOKS islands are made from a marine grade composite. This is an HDPE material which is heavy-duty in all environments, like concrete. There are a few more differences between MOKs and a concrete outdoor kitchen to discuss… But you’ll just have to watch the video to learn them all!
