Heavily Intoxicated Woman Tells Police Officer "I Need a DUI"

05:10 - "Sir, can I be honest? I need a DUI." On August 1, 2025, Rio Rancho Police Officer Roskos stopped a vehicle for speeding. The 36-year-old driver was allegedly driving 52 miles per hour (MPH) in a 40-mph zone. Officer Roskos noted that he could immediately smell a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the breath of the woman. When asked how much she had to drink, she responded with "too much". She was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests. At one point, when she knew she was performing poorly on the tests, she told Officer Roskos that "I need a DUI". She was placed under arrest and was transported to the Rio Rancho Police Station. She agreed to submit to breath samples and the results were 0.28% BAC and 0.27% BAC. Her case is still open and all suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
