The purpose of this video is to show you how to go through the quick start menu on the KE2 Evaporator Efficiency controller when you are using an electronic expansion valve. When you first power the controller up out of the box, it will prompt you for the room temperature setpoint that you want to control at. So, what you will do, using the right and left arrow key, highlight the different the value that you want to change. And, then change those values pushing the up or down arrow buttons. For this example, we are going to use minus 5 degrees Fahrenheit for our room temperature setpoint. So, once I have that displayed, press and hold the Enter button down for three seconds. Then the controller is going to ask for the defrost type. In this application we are also going to use Electric Defrost. When Electric Defrost is displayed, we are going to again press and hold the Enter button for three seconds to input that value. Now, it's going to ask you for the valve type that we are using. And again, on this application we are going to use an electronic expansion valve. Specifically, we are going to use a KE2 Therm electronic expansion valve. So, we are going to scroll through the variables column, to see the different expansion valves we have programmed in, until we see the KE2 Therm expansion valve, that is represented by KE2. Once that is displayed, press and hold the Enter button down for three seconds. And, now it is going to ask you for the refrigerant that we are using the system as well. So in this application, we are going to use 404A. There are a variety of different refrigerants that you can choose from in the controller. But again for our example, we are going to use 404A. Again press and hold the enter button down for three seconds. At that point, the controller is going to go into refrigeration mode, because it is seeing that the room temperature is well above our setpoint of minus 5. The green LED indicates that the compressor relay is on, and we are in refrigeration mode. And that is the quick startup process whenever you are using an electronic expansion valve, on the KE2 Evaporator Efficiency controller.
