Grotbags hatches a plan to capture Emu using special paint and a powerful magnet. Meanwhile, all Rod's concerned about is keeping the crows from eating his field of crops. This is an episode from the animated series that was broadcast in 1991 - Rod Hull's last regular role on our screens. There's scant information out there about the show, and the BFI's website has proved less than helpful, but it does suggest that this was the first of 13 episodes broadcast, airing on Tuesday, 8th January, 1991. The plot is partly recycled from Emu's Wide World series 1, episode 5. The series itself, while nothing groundbreaking, was made by FilmFair. They produced quite a few hand-drawn animations for children's TV, including Bangers and Mash and The Blunders, but were rather more renowned for their earlier stop-motion animations such as Paddington Bear and The Wombles. They stopped production in the mid-90s. (Please remember that this is an old VHS recording, so don't go expecting 1080p HD quality. I'm fairly certain that this video isn't available on DVD, and I've uploaded it for its historic interest only.
