The surrender that ended WW2 was signed in a schoolhouse-turned-war room right in the heart of the city. You can visit the exact room, totally untouched and learn all about the role the city played in the second world war. The history of Reims goes back even farther, all the way to Roman times and there are still remnants of the ancient city it used to be.
