Me, Pip and Skip headed out for an epic LRF (Light Rock Fishing) session off Eastbourne, East Sussex, targeting species using ultra-light tackle and tiny soft lures. There’s nothing better than fishing really light gear and feeling every knock, tap and bite through the rod! We were fishing in and around Eastbourne’s coastline, working small soft plastics and micro jig heads to see what we could tempt out. LRF fishing is all about finesse – light rods, light braid, small hooks and miniature lures that mimic tiny baitfish and invertebrates. Even the smallest fish feel like monsters when you’re fishing this light! Using micro lures and ultra-light setups makes every catch exciting. Whether it’s mini species, surprise takes or aggressive little predators smashing a tiny soft lure, LRF fishing keeps you on your toes. It’s a brilliant way to explore marks around Eastbourne and the South Coast of England, especially when targeting mixed species close to shore. As always, Pip and Skip were along for the adventure, enjoying the sea air while we worked the lures and covered the ground.
