This coconut ladoo recipe is an easy and quick way to satisfy your sweet tooth at any time. Its main ingredients are milk powder and desiccated coconut powder. If you like coconut flavor then this is the best treat for you. So do try this easy ladoo recipe and enjoy with your family. Other Names: Milk Powder Coconut Ladoos, Coconut Laddus, Coconut Laddus, Nariyal Ke Laddu, Ingredients: 4 cup Dry Milk Powder 1 cup Milk (boiled and cooled) ¾ cup Sugar 1½ cup Coconut Powder (dry desiccated) ½ cup Clarified Butter (aka Ghee) ½ tsp Cardamom Powder Instructions: 1. First take a wok or a wide pan on low heat and add ½ cup ghee. I am using pure cow milk ghee but you can use any ghee or unsalted butter. Now add 1 cup milk and immediately add 4 cup milk powder because if we add milk powder after milk gets hot it can form lumps. Now mix all ingredients well till it becomes like a smooth paste. Just make sure to keep the heat low, in total it took me around 2 mins to get paste as shown in video. 2. When it becomes a smooth paste add ¾ cup sugar and ½ tsp cardamom powder. Now again mix well and cook for 2 mins on low heat while continuously stirring. In this recipe continuous stirring is very important so that paste doesn’t stick to the bottom of wok. If you still see any small lumps make sure to break them while mixing. 3. After around 2-3 mins, add 1 ½ cups of dry desiccated coconut powder and mix it well with milk powder mixture. You will notice milk powder mixture has dried up and become thick after adding desiccated coconut. 4. Just make sure to keep mixing it continuously. If you feel mixture is still not thick enough then cook it till you get this consistency. But just be cautious not to make it too dry otherwise ladoo will not be soft. 5. Now our mixture is ready, so switch off the gas and let the mixture cool down a little, till its easy enough to hold in hand. Just make sure mixture should not get too cold as it will make it difficult to bind ladoos. 6. Once mixture has cooled down to right temperature lets start making ladoos. For this first place all items at one place. Now grease your palms using ghee and then take around 2 tbsp of mixture and press it gently to make medium size round balls. Now roll ladoo in dry desiccated coconut so that its fully covered by coconut powder. Similarly make all other ladoos. 7. Our ladoos are ready, so serve them now or just store them in refrigerator in an air tight jar as they will be good for atleast one week. Tips n Tricks: 1. Just make sure keep to keep all ingredients quantities in same proportion otherwise ladoos won’t be soft and nice. 2. Make sure you match the milk powder paste consistency same as shown in video otherwise you can get too hard or soft ladoos.
