A landmark in progress: Sagrada Familia – assembly of 125 and 710 HC-L – Liebherr

A crane job that will go down in history: A 125 HC-L and a 710 HC-L luffing jib crane have recently started working on the Sagrada Familia basilica in Barcelona. It is a great honour to be involved in such a symbolic work by Antonio Gaudí. In addition, the job is a premiere for our luffing jib cranes in Spain. The assembly was also very special: the assembly started at a height of 54 metres, the crane then climbed to 130 metres and was anchored there. This required precise planning, in order to accurately calculate the high safety requirements and weather conditions. Thanks to the good cooperation of our project department Tower Crane Solutions, the Liebherr Ibérica S.L. and our partner GRUAS CEREZO, S.L., it was a complete success.
