It is telescoping so depending on the length of the cigar you put in there, it can easily accommodate up to an 8" cigar. Inside the case are 2 cardboard tubes to help it maintain its shape. You can remove those and put your cigars inside. This case will hold up to a 48 ring gauge cigar and is perfect for about 1 maybe 2 days of storage. It is NOT a humidor so it is a case so you don't want to put cigars in there for too long but 1 or 2 days you should be fine.
