Specifically in this case, I will show you how to construct a small sketch code, line by line, that will allow you to use an external PEC11R single rotary encoder with pushbutton, to control the altimeter and barometric pressure settings in the virtual cockpit of a Cessna Skyhawk in both X-Plane 12 and MSFS2020. I will also go through the theoretical wiring layout required, as well as the process of testing the finished code for functionality in the flight simulators concerned.
