The Communications Network turns 40 this year. To mark the occasion, we’ve put together the series Looking Ahead: The Future of Communications for Good to chart what the next 40 years may hold for our field. But it’s also worth looking back and reflecting on how the field of communications for good came to be and has evolved. In the latest installment of our In Conversation series, Dr. Jasper Fessmann, an expert in the field of #Comms4Good, joins Network CEO Sean Gibbons to talk about the history of our field, how it’s changing, and what he sees ahead. Jasper is the Visiting Assistant Professor of Strategic Communications in the Reed College of Media at West Virginia University, and the author of several articles on the topic of Communications for Good. He wrote his Ph.D. dissertation on the “Fundamentals of Public Interest Communications”. Our In Conversation is a live conversation with your questions – just like a keynote at ComNet. This session is your chance to hear insights from someone with insight into both the practice of Communications for Good and the theoretical underpinnings of the field. We’ll explore: The history of Communications for Good Key founding figures and current leaders Growth and change of the last five years Current themes and future trends This is not a Communications Network webinar. No slides. No agenda.
