If you had a breast cancer surgery, it's likely you would have had a either a mastectomy with or without reconstruction, or a lumpectomy. In this episode I am going to talk about what a lumpectomy is and what you may except immediately after the surgery. So what is a lumpectomy? A lumpectomy is also known as a wide local excision. It's essentially when the cancer is removed and leaving the rest of the breast intact. If the cancer isn't palpable , you will need it to be localised with a wire or a magnetic seed.
