Haryana Nuh Clash: Security forces deployed for Mahapanchayat at Pondri village in Palwal

After communal clashes in Haryana’s Nuh district, a Mahapanchayat is being organized along the Nuh-Palwal border on August 13 by the Hindu group, Sarv Hindu Samaj in order to resume the Vishva Hindu Parishad’s Brajmandal Dharmik Yatra which was disrupted on July 31 due to the violence. Security forces have been deployed in the area to prevent any untoward incidents. The Yatra which was originally scheduled to take place in Nuh will now be held in Palwal because the police have denied permission for the event to take place in the riot-affected region. Palwal’s SP Lokender Singh while speaking to the media said, “Paramilitary forces, district police have been deployed. We are expecting a gathering of 1500-2000 people. Strict action will take place against anyone who uses hate speech. We will keep an eye on everyone so that no one carries weapons or causes damage to property.” Ram Kishan Arya who is part of the Mahapanchayat’s organizing team said, “Some people are spreading rumours that members of Jat Mahasabha, Kisan Morcha are not coming. Everyone is coming here. These rumours are being spread in order to ensure that the mahapanchayat is unsuccessful. The purpose of the mahapanchayat is to spread peace and provide support to our fellow Hindus who are afraid.
