This is flight 20 of 28 from my recent trip to Europe. In May, I set out to fly to as many places in Europe as possible, while also flying on as many different airlines and aircraft types as possible. Over a 14 day period I flew on 19 airlines, 21 aircraft types, 30 total flights, all while covering over 31,000 miles. In the end I visited 14 different countries throughout the journey. The ATR-72-212A, which is the exact model number for the ATR-72-500, and think it's a new aircraft type for me. And I suppose it is a new aircraft type to the channel, as I've never featured the ATR-72-500 on the channel before. However, it is not a new aircraft type for me. Back before I started the channel, I flew on m A LOT of ATR-72-500's between Joplin, Missouri and Dallas/Fort Wroth, Texas. Back in the early 2010's, American operated the type to Joplin, Missouri twice a day. So, although this is a new aircraft type to the channel, I have flown the type many times. It has been quite a while since I was on one though. The last time I flew on an ATR-72-212A was all the way back in September of 2011, meaning there was a 14 year gap between flights!
