As good as new! First look at my newly acquired Sony ICF-7600GR

I found a Sony ICF-7600GR on Facebook last week and what a nice radio it has turned out to be. This radio was produced from 2001 to 2018. It cost $180 new, I paid $26 for my second-hand version. It has continuous coverage from 150 kHz to 29999 KHz, with tuning steps in 1 kHz and 5 kHz. It has 100 memories, a clock with timer and sleep functions, sync detection, SSB with a fine-tuning wheel, a digital display, FM stereo on earphones, display light and a voice or music tone selector. Mine appears to be in a very good condition, everything seems to work. In this video you can hear my thoughts on this radio, and see how it performs on FM, MW and SW. This video was recorded late afternoon in Johannesburg, South Africa. I recorded the radio sound via a small microphone so that you can hear the actual speaker sound. As always, in future DXing videos with this radio I will record the sound digitally via the line out jack to my Tecsun ICR-110. It provides much better quality sound. In this video the SW sound in particular seems to be clipped by the mic, but you can still get a good idea of the speaker sound and the SW sensitivity. 00:00 My newest acquisition: Sony ICF-7600GR 00:53 Size and features 03:58 Using an external antenna 04:42 Some initial thoughts on the different bands 07:14 FM: RSG 101.5 MHz and Pretoria FM 104.3 MHz 10:00 MW: Radio Lesotho 639 kHz and Radio Pulpit 657 kHz 11:29 Switching between AM bands 12:05 Biggest flaw on the Sony ICF-7600GR 13:06 SW scan: NHK Japan 11815 kHz 13:38 Voice of Vietnam 11720 kHz 14:47 Voice of Vietnam in Japanese 12020 kHz 15:10 Radio NUG from Taiwan 11940 kHz 16:00 WWVH from Hawaii 15000 kHz 16:34 KSDA Guam 15400 kHz 17:05 FEBC from Bocaus 15620 kHz 17:33 My initial verdict
