The construction of NISSEI's US production base in Texas was completed on February 26, 2018, and its operation started in March. An opening ceremony is scheduled to be held in May. In November 2016, NISSEI established a fully-owned subsidiary called “Nissei Plastic Machinery America Inc.” in San Antonio, Texas, in order to achieve their goal to produce injection molding machines locally in the US. The construction of the factory started in December, 2016, in 36,500m2 of the lot area. Fourteen months later, the construction of the new factory was completed. The NISSEI Texas plant includes assembly floor, warehouse, showroom, technical center, and office space. Large hybrid machines, which have been continuously in high demand in the US market, will be produced in the new factory, and the machines ranging from 618-ton to 1,439-ton clamping force will initially be produced. The San Antonio plant will be NISSEI’s third production facility outside Japan, after the Taicang subsidiary in China (opened 2009) and the Rayong subsidiary in Thailand (2012). NISSEI will pursue their plan to produce ideal machines in suitable locations, procure materials in global market, and reinforce their supply chains.
