Welcome back! Todays episode is more of a glimpse into our lives in San Jose del Cabo then it is a “travel video”. We are 2 digital nomads on the road since October 31, 2020 and lived there for about a month. It was the second city that we lived in on this crazy journey between our home town of Seattle and our destination of Argentina San Jose del Cabo was a stark contrast to the neighboring city of Cabo San Lucas. There is a cohesive thread of art galleries, fancy resorts and breathtaking beaches. The major differences lie mostly in the vibe. If these two cities were people, ‘CSL’ would be the wild partier and ‘SJDC’ would be the eclectic, foodie aunt with the crazy hair. San Jose del Cabo was the most expensive place we have lived overall, the prices for most things are close to what you would pay in the US. If your idea of a vacation is holding up in a gorgeous resort, there is no shortage of choices in SJDC, CSL or a hundred places in the golden corridor in between. We lived in SJDC for about a month and the major highlight for us was the time we spent off the beaten path near Los Frailes, snorkeling and enjoying the view. We saw swordfish and manta rays jumping out of the water, and happened to be at the right place at the right time to catch a whale migration in the sunset near Cabo Pulmo. We worked a lot while we were there, and our ‘office’ was the kitchen table, which works just fine, but gets a little claustrophobic at times. Although there was a pool in the complex, we only used it once. When we want to get outside - we will always choose to go to the beach instead. One thing we didn't talk about in the video was a really cute family park where Jason loved to play basketball. We also found a really good place for fresh juice where we ordered 6 and 8 different freshly made ‘jugos’ every few days. There were still quite a few covid restrictions in place when we were there, so as with La Paz, we didn’t get to do a lot of ‘social’ activities - but we loved the natural surroundings and spent 98% of our free time at the beaches and in the water. And who would have thought we would be raving about a caesar salad in Mexico - but if you come anywhere NEAR Los Barriles, make a stop at Los Primos, and hopefully you will catch the fabulous, Señor Armando -and he will proudly whip you up the best caesar salad in the entire world. While we were in SJDC, we took care of getting our car permitted properly for Mazatlan and bought our tickets to board the ferry. Our lives were about to drastically change shortly upon our arrival to the next city. We debated about whether or not to talk about it, but this is less of a travel show and more of ‘life as a nomad’ and …unfortunately, we experienced a tragic loss that affected everything from that day on. We will talk about the loss BRIEFLY in the next episode. Thank you for all the support, we are finding our groove with the channel and hope you are enjoying our videos! More than anything, we hope we have inspired the traveler in YOU!
