Abu Ishaq al-Shatibi (720 - 790 A.H./1320 - 1388 C.E.) was an Andalusí Sunni Islamic legal scholar following the Maliki madhab. He died in 1388 in Granada. Imam Shatibi's full name was "Ibrahim bin Mosa bin Muhammad al-Shatibi al-Gharnati". His family descended from the Banu Lakhm. His Kuniyat was "Abu Ishaq", and his surnames were "Al-Lakhmi", "Al-Gharnati", "Al-Maliki" and "As-Shatibi". The date and place of his birth are unknown. However, one of his surnames, "As-Shatibi", points to the city Xàtiva, which indicates that he was a descendant of migrants from that town. Al-Qasim Ibn Firru Ibn Khalaf al-Ru’ainy al-Shatibi. Imam al-Shatibi was born in 538 AH in the city of Shatiba in Andalusia. Al-Shatibi lost his eyesight early on in life. As a youth he went on to pursue religious sciences. From an early age he showed exceptional intelligence and percipience that manifested his genius in everything he studied and memorized. Imam al-Shatibi was proficient in both Qur’anic recitation and interpretation. He was well-versed in the hadiths (Prophetic reports) and was an eminent grammarian, linguist, and literary figure. Mohammed Yasir Al Hanafi is a Deobandi talker. He often can be found “challenging” others to debate and discussion. Evidently he cannot respond to well over 50 refutation videos against him and this makes his ultracrepidarianism all the more risible.
