A brief look at the outgoing 2021 AMG C 63 S Sedan and its handcrafted biturbo V8 that unleashes 503 hp and class-leading torque. Mercedes-Benz announced its plan to kill the V8 for 2022 models over reported supply chain woes. Unfortunately, the AMG C 63 S sedan is one of the AMG models affected. This notice affects 17 cars the brand sells in the US, and means we won't see 10 vehicles from the brand at all, unless something changes. They include everything from the AMG GT, the G-Class and a slew of other AMG-badged performance sedans and SUVs -- each rock a throaty V8. The only vehicles that will continue with their V8 engines are the S-Class and Maybach S-Class. This C63s retails at $105,000. The 503-hp 4.0L V8 biturbo engine is more responsive yet significantly more fuel-efficient than its larger predecessor. Its massive torque reaches its 516 lb-ft peak at jus 1,750 rpm, and holds it all the way to 4,500 rpm, for a 3.8-second 0-60 time and instant acceleration at any speed. Yet even with its advanced design and technologies, each AMG C 63 S engine is still hand-built and signed by its own craftsman.
