Its main characteristic is that it tells a story. In opera, we can hear a big orchestra and we can see opera singers that play the different characters in the story the opera tells. Jazz has its origins in the southern United States and began to be played in the early twentieth century. It is a unique type of music, which uses different string, wind and percussion instruments. Rock and Roll music began in the 1950s in the United States. Rock and Roll is a genre of music that is usually played with electronically amplified instruments.
