We aren't sure if this is going to work but we won't know until we try right? Next stop Home Depot for some 3/4 plywood, we bought a 4x8 sheet and had our diagram of cuts drawn out. The guy who cut our wood was curious about our camper van we had a fun conversation about that. The cuts came out great, we highly recommend having them cut the main pieces it's fast, easy and cheap! While we were at Home Depot we also picked up D Rings and Lashing Straps to secure the platforms to the seat anchors in the van, this step we forgot to film but is just there in case we have a sudden stop for some extra security. We painted the wood because we found some sample cans on clearance for 99 cents, and we picked up some carpet at Costco so the platforms wouldn't scratch our interior and wouldn't give us splinters. We already had the foam mattress pads, they are SUPER comfortable so we based the measurements of these platforms ON those pads. And the idea of using Ikea legs would allow us to store the transport the platforms much easier. This van is our daily driver, so it's a no-build build, these are easy and versatile allowing us to install one or both and fold up from one to two to all three pieces within seconds. Overall we ran into a few small issues but were able to overcome those and in the end we were very happy with the way the project turned out.
