Ayesha Meera Case (3D Animation) | Dark Side of Ayesha Case Full Documentary | A1 Crime Files

Watch Ayesha Meera Case (3D Animation) | Dark Side of Ayesha Case Full Documentary | A1 Crime Files The case outline : Ayesha Meera was a 17-year-old B.Pharmacy first-year student of a college in/vicinity of Vijayawada (then in united Andhra Pradesh) staying in a women’s hostel at Ibrahimpatnam, near Vijayawada. On the night of 26-27 December 2007 (or early hours of 27 December 2007), her body was found in the hostel premises (bathroom/toilet area) with multiple injuries and signs of violent attack. The original police version was that she had been r*ped and murd*red after resisting someone’s advances. The investigation and trial followed. Legal & investigation history : The local police arrested P. Satyam Babu in August 2008 (in a separate case of cellphone robbery; police claimed a confession in this case). In 2010 (30 September) the Women’s Sessions Court, Vijayawada, convicted Satyam Babu: life imprisonment for murd*r (Section 302 IPC) and 10 years for r*pe (Section 376), to run concurrently. However, on 29 March 2017 (approximately), the Telangana & Andhra High Court (Hyderabad bench) acquitted Satyam Babu, finding he was falsely implicated, that the investigation was defective, and ordering compensation to him (₹1 lakh) by the AP government. In April 2018 the same High Court ordered a fresh investigation by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) into the case, citing serious doubts about the original probe (especially regarding forensic/DNA evidence). On 29 November 2018, the High Court directed the case be handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for a thorough investigation. In December 2019 the CBI exhumed the remains of Ayesha’s body for fresh forensic sampling and a re-postmortem. More recently (June 2025) the CBI informed the High Court that it has completed its investigation and submitted a sealed report. Key legal / forensic issues and controversies: The High Court in its judgement pointed out that the forensic/DNA procedure was “susceptible to manipulation”, and that there was no proper chain established for samples in the FSL (Forensic Science Lab). The post-mortem/autopsy reports had conflicting findings: at one point it was reported that the autopsy ruled out rape (no injuries to private parts, etc.) and said cause of d*ath was head injury/asphyxia. Evidence destruction: Three court employees were named by the CBI in Dec 2018 for destroying key material evidence in October 2014 which weakened the case. Allegations of political interference: The parents of Ayesha alleged that some influential persons (including relatives of a former minister) were involved, and that the police had pinned the crime on Satyam Babu (a “poor Dalit youth”) to protect real culprits. Current status After about 18 years since the crime, the CBI has completed its investigation and submitted a sealed report to the High Court (June 2025). Deccan Chronicle It appears the High Court has yet to make public the contents of the CBI report and next steps (charges, trial, etc) are pending. The victim’s family is still pursuing justice. The case remains significant as a symbol of major deficiencies in investigation, forensic chain of custody, and political-influence risks in criminal cases.
