COVID patient's kin assault doctors & medical staff, are COVID warriors safe? | The Big Story

On The Big Story today, we discuss the COVID warriors and how difficult it is for the families to cope up with the trauma. A family lost one of their members due to the COVID-19 virus were found assaulting the medical staff and doctors in Bengaluru. The hospital had not handed over the dead body to the family. The hospital stated that they cannot hand over the body directly as the deceased was a COVID patient and had to be cremated as per the government guidelines. An argument then broke out between the family and the health care staff which later turned into an altercation where the family assaulted the doctors and medical staff. The hospital staff has now threatened to go on a strike. The incident happened at KC General Hospital in Bengaluru. Rains in Bihar have wreaked havoc in the state, 8 districts in North Bihar has been affected by the continuous rains. The water levels in the Gandak river have risen and the overflowing river has forced several people to vacate their homes. Bihar floods have also made it difficult for people to survive along with frequent lightning, many have been killed due to that. Certain areas in Bihar are now under the water. The flood situation amid the Coronavirus pandemic is making it difficult for people to move out.
