My channel is mostly about historical songs/folk songs/hymns/etc. Discord Server:   / discord   The German Peasants’ Revolt of 1524–1525 was a massive uprising in the Holy Roman Empire where thousands of peasants demanded fairer taxes, an end to feudal oppression and greater social rights, inspired in part by ideas from the Protestant Reformation. Although the rebels organized across large regions, they were poorly armed and were eventually crushed by noble armies, leading to the deaths of tens of thousands. One of the most famous supporters of the peasants was Florian Geyer, a Franconian knight who used his wealth to equip a rebel force known as the “Black Company” and fought alongside the peasants against the nobility.
