This service features missionaries Joe and Maddie Kornoelje sharing both a miraculous testimony and a call to discipleship. After serving in Zambia for over three years, Joe returned to the U.S. battling malaria and typhoid, which led to sudden paralysis. Doctors said walking again would take months, if at all. But after taking communion and praying together in a hospital room, Joe stood up and walked. Multiple physicians called it medically impossible. One whispered, “There must still be miracles out there.” Another remarked, "I've never seen someone recover from this overnight." to which Joe answered, "It wasn't overnight. I was paralyzed this morning and Jesus healed me in a moment." From that testimony of healing, the message turns toward mission. Joe and Maddie share how God is moving in Zambia through Kids on Fire power clubs, where 750 children each week are being discipled, trained in the Word, and taught to hear the voice of God. What began with a handful of leaders has multiplied into a growing movement of local disciples making disciples. The heart of the sermon centers on: • God’s desire that all would be saved (1 Timothy 2:4) • The Great Commission as a call to make disciples, not just converts • Spiritual fatherhood and motherhood in discipleship • Being willing to “spend and be spent” for the sake of souls • Faithfulness over visible fruit • Enduring seasons of testing without losing faith • Running the race with discipline and perseverance • Continuing and increasing in prayer, evangelism, and obedience Drawing from 2 Corinthians 12, 1 Corinthians 9, 2 Timothy 4, and 1 Thessalonians 3, the message emphasizes that ministry isn’t about numbers or recognition. It’s about faithfulness. Whether in Zambia or West Michigan, whether healthy or bedridden, the calling remains the same: know Christ, make Him known, and raise others to do the same. This is a call to steady obedience. To small beginnings. To growth over time. To evangelize where you are. To disciple intentionally. To pour your life out for what matters eternally. Miracles still happen. The gospel still transforms. And the mission still stands. This message was streamed on December 28, 2025 We believe our Church is called to be a community where God is exalted, people are celebrated, and the world is revived. Our mission is to equip people with both practical and supernatural tools to live out the Kingdom of God so that the world can see Jesus for who He really is.
