Fishing with Den - Where on Earth am I? I have been getting a lot of questions recently about how I can be sitting in shorts and a T Shirt when the weather in the UK is freezing. Some viewers think I am using old videos from last summer, whilst others are asking me where I live. The answer is that I retired to New South Wales in Australia about 4 or 5 years ago. I now live near the city of Newcastle in the Hunter Valley region. It’s beautiful here and the weather is kinder than back in the UK. As you will know if you watch the channel regularly, I mostly fish for Carp, because they are just about the only UK type of fish near where I live. It’s just a shame we don’t have species like Roach, Chub, Bream and Tench anywhere near me. There are one or two places with Roach and Tench in the country, but they are many hundreds of miles from where I live. There are some Perch as you get nearer to the capital, Canberra, but mostly when I fish there I am using corn and bread as bait, so I haven’t actually caught a Perch over here yet. Even then, the nearest location for Perch is about a 5 hour drive away. I hope that my videos are entertaining for you, and that they may brighten up a dull winter's day back in the UK.
