I get asked about sharks on nearly all my charters. Don't give me crap because it is a nurse shark, they do account for 90% of "attacks" in Florida. That being said, this is a common scenario of a shark encounter here in the Keys. This happens to me a couple of times a year and is a part of spearfishing. Nurse sharks are your best case scenario, but the technique and principle is similar for other sharks. You might want to ditch your catch and make your way back to the boat sooner vs. later if it a bull shark! Just remember, sharks eat fish in the Keys, so don't look like a fish and you're 90% good!
