Two Taxi Drivers Attacked In Broad Daylight...

Three men have been arrested following a violent racially motivated assault on two elderly Sikh taxi drivers outside Wolverhampton railway station on Friday, 15 August. The incident took place at around 1:45pm and left both victims injured and traumatised. According to the Sikh Federation (UK), one of the drivers, in his 60s, was repeatedly punched and knocked to the ground. A colleague, a man in his 70s, stepped in to help but was allegedly kicked and beaten. He sustained multiple broken ribs, heavy bruising, and had difficulty breathing. Both men were taken to hospital for treatment and have since been discharged. Attack Sparked Over Taxi Rank Rules The Sikh Federation said the violence erupted after three men emerged from the station demanding a ride to Oldbury. When the drivers explained they must use the official taxi rank system, the group became aggressive before launching the attack. Footage shared widely online shows one of the drivers lying on the ground with his turban removed – an act condemned by Sikh leaders worldwide as a serious violation of religious identity.
