God of War Ragnarok, the fifth mainline entry and eighth game overall in the God of War franchise stands as the sequel to the 2018 soft reboot. The game while largely the same as God of War 2018 sees a number of small improvements from the last game to this one. Particularly in the areas of storytelling, presentation, variety with enemies, companion characters, and boss encounters. The improvements that have been made here stretch across the entire span of the game's runtime while retaining the core of what made the last game popular. While a few of the issues that were in the last game still exist in Ragnarok, they don't hinder the game to the point of boredom.
