The lost MTV series "Breaking It Down with Serena" Episode titled "The Business of Bud" hosted by Serena Altschul. I've slightly restored the video quality and spent a week trying to make the audio tolerable to listen to. Join Serena as she explores the subject of Marijuana in a pre-legalized post-9/11 America. Her journey takes her to the streets of New York City, the Mexican Border, Vancouver British Columbia and even Hawaii to learn where and how they grow that sweet sweet Pakalolo. While tolerated today, cannabis was still seen as an addictive devil drug that would ruin your life, neuter your dog and make your mama cry well into the 2000s. This documentary might be one of the earliest examples of the cannabis industry explored from a point of curiosity rather than condemnation. Footage found on a blank tape in a box of tapes set to be thrown away, I'm very proud to be able to preserve something like this.
