I wanted to share the recipe and consistency that I use to create my Dutch pours. There are also two very important checks that I go over that help gauge when you are at the right consistency. I’ve been using this specific mix and consistency for a number of years and it always gives me perfect results. The base coat and paint consistency are the two most important aspects of a successful Dutch pour. I use this consistency for all my regular Dutch pours, and also on my flower spin-outs on canvases 20” or less. However, when I do the flower spin-outs on larger canvases (24”+) I do use a slightly thicker consistency, only because the petals have further to travel and the thicker consistency helps the colors and shape stay intact…but that will be another video. Side note, I cobbled this together pretty quickly and I forgot to add the consistency check with other colors at the end, but I’ll do another one that’s a better quality and also shows the consistency that I use for my larger flowers on canvases 24” and above. #acrylicpouring #fluidartist #dutchpour #fluidart
