Iraq Travel Vlog Episode 04 - Travelling from Karbala to Najaf to visit the Imam Ali A.S. Shrine Iraq until recently has only been in the news due to wars being waged on its soil but I’ve travelled as part of a group to visit the historic and holy shrines located in this ancient land. I went with the excellent Toronto Ziyarat Group have been taking pilgrims from North America for many years. I would highly recommend them if you're looking to visit the holy sites in Iraq. In this video we've completed our visit to Karbala and make our way 75 km south to the city of Najaf. Najaf was a great centre of Islamic knowledge and the seat of power for Imam Ali. Muslims come from far and wide to visit the shrine of Imam Ali, pray and pay their respects. Sometimes people will tell you these folks are praying to or worshipping the graves at the shrines, that is false. Pilgrims that come to Najaf among other sites in Iraq make prayers requesting the Imams to intercede on their behalf with God to answer their prayers.
