It's time for new story for kids read aloud! Thank you for joining me for 12 weeks this summer as we have read 1 book each week from the "Soar Into Summer" reading list created by RIF (Reading is Fundamental)!! Congratulations!!! (Full playlist of the summer books is here:    • Soar Into Summer Book Club  ) This book, our final selection from the list, takes place in New York City during the late 1930's. It's a story about an 8 year old girl with an adventurous imagination. For the younger readers, they will enjoy the idea of imagining that they too could have the power to fly anywhere in the city they liked! The older reader will appreciate learning about Cassie and her family dynamic. Although very briefly touched on in the book, we get a peek into the racism and hardships her parents faced everyday. The older reader will also appreciate the mini-biography of the author/illustrator at the end of the book.
