Make a Live Edge Mallet from Osage Orange // (Ep. 72)

In this video I show how I made a mallet from a piece of Osage Orange. I started by laying out and chopping a tapered mortise to accept a tapered handle. No glue required and the handle can be changed out if I need a longer/shorter one. The handle chose to stay with at this time was a left over piece of 100 year old black oak which was salvaged from a barn. The whole mallet was finished with a couple coats of Danish Oil and the handle had a rubbing of beeswax polish applied to make it fit into the mallet head mortise easily. Please, Subscribe!
