Jonas Strömberg, Sustainable Transport expert at Scania, explains how the company is accelerating decarbonisation in heavy-duty road transport with its new gas vehicle portfolio. Scania, a global manufacturer of premium trucks and buses operating in more than 100 countries, sees biomethane and bio-LNG as one of the most cost-effective solutions to cut CO₂ emissions in long-haul and heavy-duty operations – alongside electrification, biodiesel and HVO. Jonas highlights why it is crucial to keep the end user in focus: many truck and bus operators are small companies struggling to navigate complex and sometimes confusing regulations. He calls for harmonised, simpler rules that make it easier for these operators to decarbonise. He also underlines the importance of close collaboration between vehicle manufacturers, energy providers and biogas suppliers to build workable, real-world solutions for customers, and shares his positive experience with the professional organisation and support from the BGS team at LNGCON 2025. 📍 Filmed at LNGCON 2025 – International LNG Congress 🎥 Organised by BGS Group – https://bgs-group.eu 🔗 Learn more about LNGCON: https://lngcongress.com/ 🔗 Follow BGS Group for more LNG & clean transport insights: / @bgsgroup #LNGCON2025 #Scania #BioLNG #Biomethane #SustainableTransport #HeavyDutyTransport #LowCarbonLogistics #CleanEnergy #BGSGroup 00:00 Introduction 00:16 Scania’s global truck 00:35 Why bio-LNG and biomethane are key decarbonisation levers 01:02 End users in focus 01:25 Call for harmonised, simpler regulation to support decarbonisation 01:44 Importance of cooperation with energy and biogas suppliers 02:02 Impressions of LNGCON 2025 and support from the BGS team
