Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers | Queen's Park Walking Tour | Brisbane Day Trip | 4K 60fps

I drove to Toowoomba for the day to see the flowers in the gardens of Queen's Park. Queen's Park is a huge park full of not only the flower beds in the Botanic Gardens, but also giant green lawns, stately trees, playgrounds, and an off-leash area for dogs. It's seriously huge (about 25 hectares). I used to live in Toowoomba for a while once, and I've spent many hours in Queen's Park in the summer, under a shady tree, reading a book. The Carnival of Flowers is celebrating its 75th birthday in 2024. It's Queensland's longest running floral event. There are other gardens on display around the city during the carnival, and I'll be showing a few more of them over the coming weeks. The City of Toowoomba goes flower mad during September/October. Private gardens are even part of the event, with local residents inviting people to come and check out their own home gardens. Officially, the Carnival of Flowers goes from 13th September to 7th October 2024. One of the highlights of the carnival is the Grand Central Parade. This is a parade of floats down the main street of Toowoomba City, with community groups and local businesses decorating their own floats with amazing floral displays. That'll be happening next weekend. Hopefully I can get a video of that too! Toowoomba is only a short drive away from Brisbane, and can easily be done for a morning or afternoon outing. It's a really pretty regional city, full of wide, tree-lined streets. It's known as the Garden City (not to be confused with Brisbane's Westfield shopping centre!). It's worth a day trip, even during other seasons, as it's such a beautiful city at any time of the year. The drive from the Brisbane city centre to Toowoomba is just over 1.5 hours, depending on traffic. I hope you enjoy this Toowoomba walking tour.
