Gov. Mike DeWine and Lt. Gov. Jim Tressel are holding a press briefing Friday as Ohio prepares for more rain and posisible flooding over the weekend. A Flood Watch was issued for central Ohio through Sunday as some parts could see more than three inches of rainfall this weekend. Storms rolled through the region Wednesday night into Thursday morning, bringing flash flooding, hail and damaging winds. The National Weather Service confirmed that at least four tornadoes touched down in Ohio during the overnight storms. NWS said an EF0 tornado impacted Fayette and Clinton counties at 1:29 a.m. and lasted until 1:35 a.m. Wind speeds peaked at 85 mph and it traveled just over eight miles. The tornado started in Clinton County near state Route 72, where a few power poles were knocked down. As the storm traveled, it destroyed a barn, damaged a home, snapped trees and threw debris. After crossing the county line into Fayette, a roof was torn off a barn, more trees were snapped and a silo was damaged. There were no reported injuries from the tornado. This was the second tornado to have hit Fayette County in less than a week. An EF2 tornado hit Putnam County, located in northwest Ohio, with 111-135 mph wind speeds, NWS said. According to 10TV's sister station WTOL, the storms left downed power lines, trees and large amounts of scattered debris throughout the county. Several buildings and homes were also damaged or destroyed as a result, with the Dupont area being hit the hardest. Three people were injured during the storms, but the injuries were described as non-life-threatening. NWS said another EF0 tornado touched down in Brown, Clinton and Highland counties. Crews are still assessing the damage and will release more information soon. An EF1 tornado touched down in Van Wert to Putnam, according to the NWS.
