Today I share an unboxing and first look at a very cool $300 watch I recently picked up because of its striking similarities to some of my favourite ultra collectable rare watches from Omega and Rolex. My 1960s Lord Sanford “Skin Diver” is something of a mystery, but its inspirations are far more obvious. With a classic Rolex Explorer 1016 style dial, Omega Speedmaster brand arrow hands, and a case like the Railmaster, is it any wonder I jumped on it? That said, there is one more interesting similarity that brings me to the story of the Omega Ranchero. The “Skin Diver" whether intentionally or not, is close to being the ultimate alternative to this highly sought after and largely forgotten masterpiece that really was the "Do it All" watch of its time.
